Culburra Beach – Curleys Bay Reserve/ Orient Point – Orient Point Reserve

Community Engagement is being undertaken in relation to a proposal for a skate park at Curleys Bay Reserve, Culburra Beach. Council has met with representatives of the Culburra Beach Progress Association and Culburra Beach Progress Association – Youth Committee –  in relation to the Curleys Bay Recreational Park. The Culburra Beach Progress Association has requested consideration of a public amenity (toilet) as part of this proposed development at this location. Council has received 33 request for new public amenities throughout the Shoalhaven. Current priority is to replace existing public amenities of high utilisation levels. The current public amenity (toilet) strategy has identified the public amenities at Orient Point Reserve, Orient Point which has less than a ten year economic life remaining. This public amenity (toilet) has served the community well since its construction in 1975, however it has very low utilisation and the question is posed can greater good be gained from a public amenity in another location which will have higher utilisation levels and operating costs transferred?

Since public amenities at Orient Point Reserve were constructed in 1975, public amenities have been constructed in Orient Point & Culburra Beach at:-

  • Orient Point boat ramp
  • Culburra Park
  • Tilbury Cove
  • Crookhaven Heads boat ramp
  • East Crescent reserve
  • Lakeside Park
  • Ocean Street – beach access

Your comments as a patron of the Public amenity (toilet) at Orient Point Reserve or a future patron of Curleys Bay proposed skate park are appreciated!
