Interactive Masterplan Website
Use the interactive Masterplan website to explore the different ideas and options for the Huskission foreshore precinct.
Following the Councils purchase of No. 59 Owen Street, Council resolved to prepare a Masterplan for the Huskisson Foreshore Precinct as well as investigate preliminary development concepts for No. 59 Owen Street to establish a 'way forward' for the site and broader precinct. In the meantime, some minimal work has been done to the current informal car park that has existed on the site for some time, to assist with its usability.
The masterplan precinct area includes No.59 Owen Street through to the existing Huskisson Hotel.
Council have now engaged Sydney-based urban design consultants, SJB Urban, to commence the preparation of this key document to guide the future of the precinct area.
A Community Reference Group (CRG) has also been formed which includes representatives from the Huskisson Woollamia Community Voice, Chamber of Commerce, Tourism Group, Wharf Businesses, Landowners within the precinct and the general community. The CRG will provide early input and feedback to the project consultants at relevant points throughout the design process and in the testing of early concepts.
Community workshops were held at the end of October with over 50 community members attending. Participants were involved in creating their own concepts in groups in line with a set of design principles. The presentations are available in the quick links.
The draft Huskisson Foreshore Masterplan and associated Development Options have been on public exhibition from 15/6/16 to 10/8/16.
Two community ‘drop in’ sessions have also be held in Huskisson on 8/7/16 and 9/7/16.
Submissions have been recieved during the exhibition period and are now being processed for reporting to Council in the near furture.
