You must advise Council within 14 days if any details change such as your address, contact details or if you no longer own the animal.
Forms are available on the Division of Local Government Website (Change of Owner/Details or Change of Address Notice). The relevant form/s must be completed by the recorded owner on the NSW Companion Animals Register.
Microchip and owner information is stored on the NSW Companion Animals Register as part of the registration process. When you keep your information up-to-date, you can be quickly contacted if your animal is lost.
Please note that it is the responsibility of the previous owner to ensure that the details are updated to reflect the new ownership.
If your companion animal passes away you must notify Council within 28 days.
