Community safety and wellbeing is a whole community responsibility
Everyone has a role to play in creating safe communities.
Shoalhaven City Council is committed to working closely with residents, visitors, community, Police, industry business and other interested parties to build strong and safe communities.
Following are some initiatives Council is working on to achieve this:
Safer Community Action Team
Safer Community Action Team (SCAT) is a partnership between Community, Police, Local Government, Industry and Business to increase Community safety, reduce anti-social behaviour, crime and the fear of crime in the Shoalhaven.
This partnership has produced the Shoalhaven Crime Prevention Plan and the Nowra CBD CCTV project.
Meetings are held on a quarterly basis.
Shoalhaven Community Pride Committee
The Shoalhaven Community Pride Committee is a new initiative of Council to work towards developing local pride in the communities of the Shoalhaven.
