Membership 

  • Everyone is welcome to use our libraries.
  • To borrow items you need to become a member.
  • Just come into one of our libraries with identification that has proof of your current address.
  • Temporary and reciprocal borrower membership is also available. Please come into one of our libraries and ask our staff.

South Coast Cooperative

Members can also borrow from Kiama and Eurobodalla Libraries as part of the South Coast Cooperative.

Reservations & interlibrary loans

If there is a particular item that you want you can reserve it for a fee. Come into one of our libraries, phone on (02) 4429 3705 or reserve it from home via our online catalogue (new window).
  • If we don’t have what you’re looking for in our library collection we can probably find it at another library in Australia. See our Interlibrary loans page or come into one of our libraries.

Internet/computer access

  • Free public internet access is available for members.
  • A small fee is charged for non-members.
  • To use our computers ID must be shown.
  • Black and white printing is available at 20 cents per side and colour printing is available at $1.10 per side.

Black & White     $0.20 per side

                      $1.10 second and subsequent pages

Genealogical research & local studies

Visit our Local Studies room at Nowra Library where we have a range of resources to help you study the local area and its history as well as genealogical research. Phone (02) 4429 3705 or find more information on our local heritage page.

Meeting room

Are you a local community group or non profit organisation? You can book our meeting room, which also has facilities available and equipment for hire. If you require anymore information regarding meeting room and equipment hire come into Nowra library, call on (02) 4429 3705 or send us an e-mail.

Display cabinets and boards

Two large display cabinets and a number of display boards are available for use by community groups at Nowra Library. If you require anymore information regarding the display cabinets come into our Nowra library, call on (02) 4429 3705 or send us an e-mail.

Local newspaper index

Looking for a newspaper article? The Local Newspaper Index (new page) can help you find what you need and provides a list of newspapers and years that have been indexed.  The articles are available in print or microfilm at the Local Studies section of Nowra Library.
