WHS Manual
This manual provides you with Shoalhaven City Council's Corporate Work, Health and Safety policies, procedures, programs, work practices and instructions which collectively comprise Council's Work Health and Safety Management System. The effectiveness and success of implementing the Safety Management System rests with all workers, whether they are paid Council employees, contractors or volunteers.

The health and safety of workers relies on each worker adopting a positive attitude toward safe work practices. It is each workers responsibility to be aware of the hazards and risks associated with their work and the control measures to be implemented to reduce the risk as much as is reasonably practicable. It is also each workers responsibility to consult, cooperate and coordinate their activities with others that may be affected.

This manual provides the minimum requirements Council expect of workers in relation to safety. It is not however a complete library of available safety documentation. Additional Safe Work Method Statements and Safe Work Procedures have been developed and are available for workers who may be engaged by, or on behalf of Council. Should you require further safety information, or have suggestions for improvement of our safety system, please contact in the first instance your supervisor, contract manager or volunteer coordinator as the case may be. Should you require any further assistance please feel free to contact the Work Health and Safety Unit on 4429 3521 or by email.
