A range of payment options are available, you may choose from:-
You can now pay your rates, debtors or water account online by credit card using our secure payment gateway (new window).
If you experience any difficulties when paying online please check your browser settings as follows:
1. The ‘Pay Rates Online’ application opens in a new window when you click on the link. It is possible that your browser popup blocker will block the window from opening and so nothing appears to happen. If you set your browser to allows popup’s from the Council website this problem should be solved.
2. If the problem is not popup's then it may be your browsers encryption settings. Our payment gateway requires that TLS 1.0 is set. To check this setting follow these simple steps:
For Internet Explorer:
Tools > Internet Options
Click on the ‘Advanced’ tab.
Scroll down the list to ‘Security’.
Scroll a little further and ensure the box next to ‘Use TLS 1.0’ is checked.
Click ‘OK’
For FireFox:
Tools > Options.
Click on the ‘Advanced’ button.
Click on the Encryption tab.
Ensure the box next to ‘Use TLS 1.0’ is checked.
Click ‘OK’.
You will need to refer to your notice to locate your reference number. Each type of account has a unique reference number and must be used to ensure your payment is allocated correctly.
- Rates reference numbers start with a ‘5’ & each property has a unique number.
- Water reference numbers start with a '6' & again each property has a unique number
- Debtor reference numbers start with a '3'
The reference number is located at the top right hand corner of your notice beneath the B-Pay logo.
Please note: When you use this option:
- You will incur a 1% surcharge on each payment
- You will need to allow pop-ups for https://www.cardpay.com.au
- A new window will open up
- American Express, Diners Club & Amex Cards are not accepted

Visit Council's Nowra or Ulladulla office to pay your account by cash, cheque, debit or credit card.
Please note: Payment by credit card will incur:
- a 1% surcharge on each payment
- American Express, Diners Club & Amex Cards are not accepted
Council's cashiers hours are Monday to Friday:
Nowra office 9 am to 5 pm
Ulladulla office 9:15 am to 4 pm

To see if your financial institution has B-Pay,
check here (new window) Payments can be made using BPAY either over the phone or the internet using your cheque, savings or credit card account through your banking institution.
You will need to refer to your notice to locate your reference number. Each type of account has a unique reference number and must be used to ensure your payment is allocated correctly.

You can make payments at any Australia Post Outlet if you present your account/invoice with the barcode intact.
Payments can be made by cash, cheque, credit card or EFTPOS
Please note: some options may not be available at all outlets or may apply fees. Please check with your Australia Post Outlet for details.

A Direct Debit Request form can forwarded to you by request or download a
Direct Debit Request form (PDF 66kb), complete the application and return it to Council by email (as a PDF attachment), post, fax, or in person.
Each time a payment falls due, the amount will be automatically deducted from your nominated bank account. Please ensure you have sufficient funds in your account to cover the amount to be paid.
A notice/invoice will be sent to you prior to the due date advising the direct debit will occur for the amount due.
Your Direct Debit Agreement can cover rates, water and debtor accounts if you choose.
If you wish to cancel your direct debit agreement or change your details please inform Council in writing and submit by post,
email or fax.

If you are a Centrelink customer and wish to use Centrepay to pay your rates or water, download the
Centrepay Deduction Form (new window) or collect one from your closest Centrelink office during business hours. You will need your rates/water assessment number to complete the form.
- The Service Provider’s Centrepay Reference Number for RATES payments is 555-053-573 A
- The Service Provider’s Centrepay Reference Number for WATER payments is 555-071-469 B
Two separate forms must be completed if paying both rates and water through Centrepay.
Centrepay is a voluntary, free service to Centrelink customers. The money you specify is transferred from your Centrelink payments, pensions or allowances. You may choose to start, stop or change your deductions at any time by contacting Centrelink direct.
