Waste minimisation
Council actively supports and promotes recycling to the community due to the wide-reaching environmental benefits that recycling offers. Increases in recycling efforts by our community leads to a reduction in waste buried in landfill as well as less pressure on natural resources. Together, Council and the community can work to protect the beautiful and naturally diverse environment in which we live.

Community Recycling Centres

Shoalhaven City Council operates and maintains 5 Community Recycling Centres throughout the Shoalhaven.

The Community Recycling Centres provide an opportunity for residents and visitors to dispose of excess recyclable material, 24hrs a day at no charge. Please note that at all Community Recycling Centres, except for East Lynne, paper/cardboard is NOT accepted and all recyclable material must be separated into material types eg: green glass, brown glass, clear glass, aluminium cans etc.

Garbage is not accepted at any of the Community Recycling Centres. Any garbage left at the Centres is considered to be an act of illegal dumping and as such, fines can and will be enforced under the relevant Act.
