RID Community Champions

Does your sporting club need new equipment? To help clean up sporting fields and bush areas around the fields, Shoalhaven City Council has launched an exciting educational campaign offering sporting clubs across the Shoalhaven, the opportunity to participate in the Report Illegal Dumping (RID) Community Champions program.

RID Community Champions is an innovative educational program pioneered by Council Rangers that aims to prevent illegal rubbish dumping by motivating and educating the community at a grassroots level.

It is also an opportunity for your sporting club, to be in the draw to gain $5,000 worth of equipment.

A maximum of three sporting clubs will be selected to participant in the six week program. Applications will be judged based on the merit of their proposed campaigns.

The three clubs selected to be part of the program will be announced on Monday 10 October 2016.

The three clubs have from 22 October 2016 until 11 December 2016 to carry out their Report Illegal Dumping Community Champions campaigns.

The club with the most effective campaign will be announced on 13 December 2016 and rewarded with items/equipment to the value of $5000! The two runner up clubs will each receive items/equipment to the value of $2500.

Report Illegal Dumping

Shoalhaven City Council Rangers work hard to combat illegal dumping. With 49 towns and villages in the Shoalhaven, there is a lot of ground to cover. Council needs your help to report anything that you may see in your local area.

By reporting illegal dumping you can help prevent damage to the environment and reduce risks to human health. Dumpers face heavy fines and repeat offenders can be sentenced to prison.
