Register Now Clean Up Australia 2007

Registration is now open for the 2007 Clean Up Australia Day. This is your chance to do something about the litter that may be spoiling your favourite park or those abandoned shopping trolleys polluting your local waterways. Every year Shoalhaven City Council joins the National Clean Up campaign to support local people who are prepared to get involved and do something about known dumping areas and litter hotspots.

Start planning your Clean Up event by marking these dates in your calendar for 2007.

Business Clean Up Day - Tuesday 27 Feb, 2007

Schools Clean Up Day - Friday 2 March, 2007

Clean Up Australia Day - Sunday 4 March, 2007

Register before 1st February by visiting the CUA website at www.cleanup.com.au. Participation is easy, take a look around and identify a site that could benefit from a Clean Up, ask your neighbours, friends and family to join you on Sunday 4th March and don’t forget to register your site online www.cleanup.com.au or call Shoalhaven City Council’s Clean Up Coordinator on 4429 3618 / 4429 3129.

Invitation to Participate and Support

Would your organisation like to participate in Clean Up Australia Day 2007 activities as a business, community group or possibly your members would be interested in getting together with their family, friends and neighbours? Or maybe you would be interested in becoming a sponsor for an activity in your local area. Every year Shoalhaven City Council supports schools, businesses, community groups and individuals who are prepared to do something about known dumping areas and litter hotspots – reserves, parks, roads, quarries, beaches, rivers, foreshores and a variety of other locations. Shoalhaven Council will again have staff and volunteers at sites throughout the Council area -

• Berry
• Bomaderry
• Nowra
• Shoalhaven Heads
• Huskisson
• Ulladulla
• Kiola
• Lake Conjola
• Sussex Inlet
• Currarong
• Bendalong

and will be assisting businesses, schools and community groups and individuals at other locations. It’s a great opportunity for you , your friends and neighbours to clean up an area or support an activity and properly dispose of rubbish and in so doing keep your local environment clean. You, or a community group or business can participate by nominating a Clean Up site or by joining others at a registered Clean Up site. Early Registration is encouraged and should be completed before 1st February, although late registrations will be taken.
