Seniors Festival

Get Involved in NSW Senior’s Festival Celebrations across the Shoalhaven from 3-12 March 2017.

If you are over 60, NSW Seniors Festival gives you the chance to make new friends or get together with old ones at an array of local community events, many of which are free or heavily discounted.

On Friday, 3 March from 10am – 1pm join Council in Jelly Bean Park in Nowra (at the top of the Woolworths car park) to celebrate the launch of the festival. Southern Stompers Jazz band will be playing throughout the event and there will be lots of activities to come and try. Community Gateway will have iPads available to try out some brain training apps. Shoalhaven Arts Centre will be hosting a weaving workshop with recycled and collected materials.

Information stalls from local aged care providers will be showcased including My Aged Care and Australian Hearing who will be conducting free hearing checks. Grand Pacific Health will be there with information about their myriad of well-being programs including exercise, dietetics and psychology programs.

The Seniors Festival launch is just the beginning of a packed out Calendar of Activities happening across the Shoalhaven between 3-12 March.

There is something for everyone. From Men’s Shed open days, celebratory luncheons and high teas to free shows at the Shoalhaven Entertainment Centre. The Shoalhaven Family History Centre at Pyree will have an open day and Council’s aquatic and leisure centres will be offering “bring a friend for free” throughout the festival week.
