Shoalhaven City Council is committed to the ongoing training and employment of young people and others in the local area. We offer a wide range of traineeships, trade apprenticeships and cadetships.

Meaning you can study in your area of choice while working in a relevant field earning valuable experience compared to others who may be studying along side you and not gaining experience in the workforce. This means you will be one step ahead when you finish your studies.
Benefits include:

- On-the-job Training
- Job rotation opportunities
- Paid study leave
- Generous starting salary

Testimonials
"I am grateful for the traineeship opportunity with Shoalhaven City Council. It has been remarkable. The experience has opened pathways for personal and professional growth, enhanced my skills, provided networking connections, and a sense of belonging. I have obtained a full-time position at Council, which is a dream come true. The support and guidance from colleagues and mentors have been invaluable."
"Shoalhaven City Council hosted me from 2010 – 2012 as a Business Administration Trainee. During my tenure I completed Certificate III and IV. I managed to gain experience and nationally recognised qualifications whilst being paid.
I've been employed within Shoalhaven City Council as a permanent employee since completing my traineeship and have progressed my career through to becoming a Coordinator."
"I completed my Certificate III and IV with Shoalhaven City Council, I had the opportunity to rotate through a variety of roles to gain valuable experience during my traineeship. I have now worked with Council for just over 10 years including a variety of roles on secondments whilst maintaining my permanent position, which is one of the great things about working for a Council. I have also been lucky enough to have met my best friends whilst working here."
