Berarra Beach Access Stairs - Myrniong Grove

The Shoalhaven was declared a Natural Disaster Area in February, June and September 2022 after severe weather and flooding events. This had a major impact on Berarra and surrounding communities, damaging infrastructure and property. As a result of damages Council is upgrading pedestrian beach access stairs at Myrniong Grove, Berarra.

12/8/2024 - Council is engaging with contractors on the optimal construction method to make sure repair work is carried out efficiently with minimal disruption and ensures safety. The repair method looks to address existing damages and deliver a robust beach access path for ongoing community use.

About the project

Works will involve the repair of a failed access track, which due to severe weather has failed. This beach access asset requires replacement to be brought into line with current engineering standards for the coastal environment.

22/4/2024-Council recently secured funding approval to repair this beach access asset after significant damage caused by a declared natural disaster in 2022. Council is working to engage qualified contractors to carry out the necessary repair work.
