Croobyar and Currarong Road Water Mains Replacement

This package (referred to as Separable Portion 1) involves the replacement of an old water pipe that is approximately 2.33km long and 100mm wide, which is located under Croobyar Road.

This pipe runs from the current water pump station to where Croobyar Road meets the Woodstock Road intersection. The old pipe, made of white UPVC, will be replaced with a new one that’s 125mm wide and made of a stronger polyethylene material (rated PN100 PN16). The existing pipeline fails because of the cyclic loading (repeated pressure changes) caused by the existing water pump station.

This package (Separable Portions 2 and 3) is the replacement of an old water pipe that’s roughly 7.3km long and has a diameter of 225mm.

The pipe, made of white UPVC, runs from the current water pump station to a point on Currarong Road where the pipe had been previously replaced during a recent road upgrade project. This point is about 2km south of the water pump station (this part of the project is referred to as Separable Portion 2).

The project also includes replacing the pipe from the intersection of Coonemia and Currarong Road to the water pump station along Currarong Road (this part is referred to as Separable Portion 3).
