Moss Vale Road Urban Release Area - Wastewater Infrastructure

The Moss Vale Road (MVR) Urban Release Area (URA) is a regionally significant residential development located between Bomaderry and Cambewarra village.

About the project

The current projected development yield is 3,400 residential lots. In order to supply adequate future servicing to the urban release area (URA), Shoalhaven Water is currently progressing wastewater infrastructure.

  • Project approval – 2020
  • Award of design consultants – 2020
  • Completion of Moss Vale Road wastewater infrastructure detailed design – December 2021
  • Award of wastewater infrastructure construction contractor – December 2021
  • Current overall project completion date –July 2024

Package 1: Wastewater infrastructure

  • Construction of new sewer pump station to southern Moss Vale Road URA
  • Construction of new gravity mains and rising mains

Package 2: Sewer pump stations

  • Construction of new sewer pump stations to northern Moss Vale Road URA and Illaroo Road
  • Construction of new gravity mains and rising mains.

Package 3: Pipelines

  • Construction of new sewer gravity and rising mains connecting the Moss Vale Road URAs to the existing Bomaderry wastewater treatment plant.

May 2024 update

Package 1: Wastewater infrastructure

  • Works completed
  • Southern pump station commissioned and in operation

Package 2: Sewer pump stations

  • Works completed
  • Northern pump station commissioned and in operation
  • New SPS21 completed
  • New access road for Northern Pumpstation and new SPS21 completed
  • Decommissioning of old SPS21 along Illaroo Road to occur following commission of New SPS21

Package 3: Pipelines

  • Installation of all Package 3 pipelines completed
  • Pipes now in operation
