Greenwell Point Road - Greenwell Point - Pavement Repair

Greenwell Point Road is 12.5km long and connects the coastal townships of Greenwell Point, Orient Point and Culburra Beach to Nowra. In 2022 it was impacted by three (3) severe weather events. Council has secured over $750,000 in Natural Disaster funding to repair severely damaged sections of the road pavement, further funding applications are underway.

1/10/2024 - Site 3 and Site 4: The request for quotations is being sent out Tuesday 1 October 2024, for Site 3 and Site 4 pavement repair works. The request for quotations will close 30 October 2024 with repair works anticipated to start in January 2025

Site 1 300m between Apperleys Lane and Mottrams Lane - completed. 

Site 2 400m in proximity to Stratherick Lane. TfNSW has approved funding to repair the damaged pavement near previous asphalt repairs - completed.

Site 3 From Rayleigh Drive to Apperleys Lane. Ground investigations conducted.

Site 4 Starts just before Jindy Andy Lane and extend towards Pyree Lane as Site 4 map shows.

2024 Works history

2023 Works History

23/08/23 - Natural Disaster funded repair works have been completed. Council will continue to monitor the condition of the road and undertake repairs where required.

20/07/2023 - Asphalt works are complete with final line marking still to be undertaken. Temporary markers have been installed for the interim.

04/07/2023 - Night works have commenced at Site 1 and 2, Sunday 2nd July and anticipated to be completed within 2 weeks, weather permitting.

22/06/2023 - Night works are delayed one (1) week and are due to commence at site 1 and 2, Sunday 2nd July and anticipated to be completed within two (2) weeks, weather permitting.

20/06/2023 - Night works are due to commence at Site 1 and Site 2, Sunday 25 Jun. Works are anticipated to be completed within two (2) weeks, weather permitting.

31/05/2023 - Funding has been approved by Transport for NSW for sections of Greenwell Point Rd. See 'Asphalt patch repair work schedule' in Related Documents.

25/05/2023 - Site 1. 300m between Apperleys Lane and Mottrams Lane and Site 2. 400m in proximity to Stratherick Lane pavement repair works: TfNSW has approved funding to repair damaged pavement adjacent previous asphalt repairs. A request for quote has been issued with works planned for June.

25/05/2023 - Site 3. From Rayleigh Drive to Apperleys Lane: TfNSW has approved ground investigations to determine the appropriate repair method. An RFQ has been issued with the investigation anticipated to be completed in July.

17/05/2023 - Maintenance staff are undertaking weekly inspection of the road and actioning temporary road repairs as required.

27/04/2023 - Council has received Natural Disaster Recovery Funding to repair damaged sections of Greenwell Point Road. A request for quote is being prepared and will be issued in April with works anticipated to commence in June, subject to contractor availability and weather conditions.

13/04/2023 - Maintenance staff are undertaking weekly inspection of the road and actioning temporary road repairs as required.

06/04/2023 - Maintenance staff will undertake weekly inspection of the road and schedule temporary pothole repairs as required.

29/03/2023 - Temporary pavement repairs are being completed at this location prior to Easter (pothole repairs and large shoves).

17/03/2023 - Council has received Natural Disaster Recovery Funding to repair damaged sections of Greenwell Point Road. A request for quote is being prepared with works anticipated to commence in April, subject to contractor availability and weather conditions.

02/03/2023 - Sampling and testing investigations have been completed. Reports are to be reviewed and submitted for funding approval to Transport for NSW.
