23/02/2023 - Specialist contractors, Interflow, are due to re-commence removing sediment in the pipeline on 6th March.
10/02/2023 - As a result of March and July 2022 Severe weather natural disaster, a 470m long stretch of stormwater pipe varying from 375mm diameter to 900mm diameter between Watts Rd and Greenway Rd (crossing public road and private property) experienced ground subsidence in various locations as a result of joint movement in the pipe and loss of sand, gravel and other material into the pipe. This loss of sand had also caused heavy blockage of the stormwater pipe requiring the pipe to be cleaned before it can be properly inspected with pipe cameras to identify exactly where the pipe joints had opened to allow sand to enter the stormwater system. Once the locations of all joint failures are identified, it is proposed to identify repair options and estimate the cost of repair before submitting the scope of work for final approval by TfNSW for Natural Disaster funding.
23/01/2023 - Specialist contractors, Interflow, return to site Monday 30 January 2023 for 3 days to finish cleaning the stormwater line and completing closed circuit television (CCTV) internal inspection of the stormwater pipework. Following this internal pipe inspection, Council will have better information to:
- Determine the project scope i.e. the extent and methodology of repairs to be undertaken
- The estimated cost to undertake the recommended repair work
- Seek Disaster Recover funding approval from NSW Transport to undertake the repair work
- Prepare tender and contract document before calling tenders to undertake the repair work
The planned completion dates for items 1, 2 & 3 is 13th February 2023
