Council actively supports and promotes recycling to the community due to the wide-reaching environmental benefits that recycling offers. Increases in recycling efforts by our community leads to a reduction in waste buried in landfill as well as less pressure on natural resources. Together, Council and the community can work to protect the beautiful and naturally diverse environment in which we live.
Recycling at the Depots
A wide range of separated recyclable materials are accepted free of charge at each of Council's Recycling and Waste Depots. These include (but are not limited to) scrap metal, some whitegoods (de-gassing fee applies to fridges and air-conditoners etc), electronic waste, batteries, fluorescent globes, motor oil (up to 20L) and polystyrene (must be clean white, eg the sort that is around your new appliance).
NONE of these items should be placed in your yellow lid recycling bin.

Community Recycling Centres (CRC's) are free drop off centres for common household "problem wastes".
CRC's are located at all Recycling and Waste Depots.
