Find a bushfire mitigation area
Bushfire prone areas have, or are near, vegetation that has the potential to be impacted by bushfire.
Council maintains over 200 sites as part of its an Annual Bushfire Mitigation Program to reduce the potential for bushfire to impact on assets the community values.
The program includes sites such as:
- Active and passive recreation reserves
- Operational land
- Road reserves
- Infrastructure installations
Sites on the program are slashed or mown up to three times a year throughout the bushfire danger period (generally August to May).
Indicative locations of sites on the Annual Bushfire Mitigation Program are shown in the interactive map.
