Before you throw it out

If purchasing a new bed/mattress from a retailer, please enquire if they will take your old one at no charge.

How/where to dispose of it

Dispose of at a Council's recycling and waste depots.

You can also arrange a Green and Bulky waste collection service

Will it cost anything to get rid of?

Yes. Depot disposal fees will apply.

What happens to it after we receive it?

Mattresses are fed into a huge shredding machine to recover the spring steel. The remainder is sent to different recycling facilities for use in processed engineered fuel (PEF).
