Christmas Lights

Christmas lights are electronic waste (e-waste) and must be kept out of both kerbside bins. E-waste can become an environmental hazard.

Before you throw it out

Keep intact as much as possible.

How/where to dispose of it

Recycle via Council's recycling and waste depots

Will it cost anything to get rid of?

No.

What happens to it after we receive it?

Electronic waste is sent to specialist recyclers where it undergoes a manual dismantling process. Individual materials such as plastics, metals, glass are recovered and processed to be recycled into new products.
