Fireweed

Fireweed is a highly invasive plant species that is toxic to livestock.

Before you throw it out

Place in bags and tie up to avoid seeds escaping. Fines can apply for transporting fireweed that is not properly secured.

How/where to dispose of it

Dispose of for free at Council’s recycling and waste depots.

Will it cost anything to get rid of?

Your whole load must consist of fireweed to dispose of at no charge.

What happens to it after we receive it?

Fireweed is sent straight to landfill.
