Keep out of both your kerbside bins. Motor oil contains heavy metals and toxic chemicals. It can contaminate waterways which can have adverse affects on human, animal and plant life.
Before you throw it out
Until you are ready to dispose of motor oil, store in a clearly marked container away from children.
How/where to dispose of it
Dispose of at a Community Recycling Centre located at all Council's recycling and waste depots.
Will it cost anything to get rid of?
No. Disposal is free for domestic quantities. (Maximum 20 litres).
What happens to it after we receive it?
Used oils are processed to become a lubricant or used for waste to energy.
