Paint & Paint Tins

Keep paint and empty paint tins out of both your kerbside bins. Paint contains toxic chemicals. It can contaminate waterways which can have adverse affects on human, animal and plant life.

Before you throw it out

Until you are ready to dispose of paint, store in a clearly marked container away from children.

How/where to dispose of it

Dispose of at a Community Recycling Centre located at all Council's recycling and waste depots.

Will it cost anything to get rid of?

No. Disposal is free for domestic quantities. (Maximum 20 litres).

Empty paint tins are also accepted.

What happens to it after we receive it?

Paints are mixed with other waste solvents and used as an alternative to fuel in cement kilns. The metal containers are recycled.
