Keep soft plastic out of the yellow lid bin. Soft plastic is the number one item causing contamination in the yellow lid bin.

Soft plastic is plastic that is easily scrunched and does not bounce back into shape.

It is frequently used for packaging and wrapping food items commonly found in your supermarket trolley.

Soft plastic includes

  • packaging for dry foods eg: bread, pasta, cereal, rice
  • 'foil-like' packaging eg: chips, biscuits, filtered coffee
  • shopping bags
  • cling wrap
  • bubble wrap
  • lolly and chocolate bar wrappers  

and much more

Before you throw it out

Dispose of directly.

How/where to dispose of it

Dispose of into the red lid bin.

Will it cost anything to get rid of?

No.

What happens to it after we receive it?

The contents of the red-lid bin go directly to landfill.
