Electric Cable Recycling Plant
The Electric Cable Recycling Plant plays a crucial role in our commitment to sustainable waste management by recovering electric cables from the waste stream that would otherwise end up in landfills. Once collected, these cables are processed in the plant, where they are granulated into fine particles.
The recycling process employs advanced technologies, including density separators, vacuum and pressure extractors, vibratory screens, and magnetic belts. These systems work together to separate copper from the plastic insulation with an impressive purity rate exceeding 97%. The recovered copper is then sent to downstream recycling markets, contributing to the circular economy.
In addition to copper recovery, the granulated plastics are further processed through various recycling programs on-site, ensuring minimal waste. This initiative successfully diverts approximately 21 tonnes of copper and mixed plastic granules from landfill each year.
Moreover, this plant is a key component of our broader non-scheme e-waste recovery and recycling program, which collectively diverts up to 458 tonnes of e-waste from landfills annually. By investing in such initiatives, we are not only reducing landfill waste but also promoting a more sustainable future.
