Glass Recycling Factory

Glass Recycling

Glass bottles and jars that are too heavily contaminated are not viable to be recycled back into glass bottles and jars. This glass waste could end up in landfill.

We process glass through our glass recycling plant, to produce a sand-sized material (glass sand). This process includes washing and crushing the glass into varied sizes as determined by the end-use application e.g. road building.

What is glass sand?

Glass sand is a high-quality, sustainable alternative to natural sand.

Recycled glass sand has excellent compaction properties and is ideal for use as a bedding and backfilling material. It is also used in civil and road constructions where it is blended into other materials, like road bases and asphalt.

If your business could use this material, please contact Waste Services on 1300 293 111 for more information.
