Community Recycling Centres

Community Recycling Centres, also known as 'CRC's, are sections of our waste depots where residents can dispose of household problem waste that can’t go in your kerbside bins.

CRC's are open during waste depot hours and disposal is free of charge for domestic quantities only.

What can I take to a Community Recycling Centre?

Community Recycling Centres are located at each Recycling and Waste Depot across the Shoalhaven. Domestic quantities of the following items are accepted.

  • Paint (up to 20L)
  • Gas bottles
  • Fire extinguishers
  • Motor oils (up to 20L)
  • Other oils (e.g. cooking oils) (up to 20L)
  • Car batteries
  • Household batteries
  • Smoke detectors
  • Fluorescent bulbs and tubes
  • Foam (polystyrene or styrofoam) is also accepted at no charge, at the depots. Conditions apply.

Disposal of these items at a CRC is free of charge.

For household cleaning chemicals, garden and pool chemicals, as well as poisons, you will need to attend a Household Chemical CleanOut event instead.
