Shoalhaven City Council's Green and Bulky waste collection service is available to all residents for their excess garden waste (also called 'green waste') and unwanted bulky household items.
A collection service must be booked before any items are placed on the kerbside, and payment must be made at time of booking. You can use your household and garden waste vouchers to pay for this service.

Garden waste we can accept
- grass clippings and leaves can be bagged or boxed and up to 16 kg in weight for collection
- small prunings need to be tied in bundles of up to 1m long, 40cm in diameter, and up to 16 kg in weight for collection
Garden waste we can't accept
- any building related timber such as treated pine, fence palings and furniture
- logs or branches larger than 150mm in diameter
Where do I leave items for collection?
Once you've booked your collection, prepare the garden waste for collection and leave it just outside your fence or property boundary.
Take care not to put it on the footpath or too close to the road where it could become a hazard.

- mattresses — must be wrapped in plastic for the health and safety of our collectors

How big can bulky items be?
Items must be able to be easily and safely carried by two people, anything heavier than that won't be safe for our collectors to lift.
