Shoalhaven Regional Gallery Nowra is located in central Nowra at 12 Berry Street, Nowra - next door to Shoalhaven Library and opposite Nowra School of Arts. The gallery serves as an exciting artistic hub for the Shoalhaven Region. Each year welcomes a vibrant exhibition program featuring both contemporary and traditional works, a diverse range of touring exhibitions by leading Australian and Shoalhaven artists, Community based exhibitions and works from the Shoalhaven City Art Collection. Exhibitions change every six to eight weeks through four gallery spaces; East, Access, Foyer and Main.

Shoalhaven Regional Gallery prides itself on fostering dynamic Public Programs. It presents art, cultural and community events aimed at audience development, accessibility and education, for the use and enjoyment of the entire community. Our Gallery Shop supports local artists and artisans with an eclectic array of unique gifts. With four spaces available to hire for your business needs and special events we can cater for your event.

The Shoalhaven Regional Gallery is a member of the Regional & Public Galleries Association of NSW and is registered with the Cultural Gifts Program of the Australian Government.

Shoalhaven Arts Board Grants 2018/19

The Shoalhaven Arts Board is encouraging local art practitioners to apply for funding under the Board's Annual Grant funding program. The first category is Developing the Arts for a sense of place with two (2) grants of up to $5000 each. The Board envisages projects that build a sense of place for the Shoalhaven through artistic and creative collaborations.

The second category offers a funding opportunity for projects that seek to create and install public art throughout the city with a grant available under this category of up to $10,000.  Applicants are encouraged to refer to the document Developing Public Art - Themes and a Sense of Place for ideas of appropriate themes and locations.

Applications close on Friday 31 August 2018 and can be downloaded here: Arts Board Grant Application 2018/19 , along with the Guidelines.

Laneway Panel Project 2018

Artists and community groups are invited to submit an expression of interest to be considered for this art project.  To be displayed in the laneway directly south of the Gallery at 12 Berry St, Nowra, ten (10) aluminium panels are waiting for engaging and accessible art.  Artwork needs to be suitable for the outdoor environment.  Download an application form Laneway Panel Project 2018 - Application Form & Guidelines - submissions close on Friday 31 August 2018.

Volunteers

If you would like to be a volunteer and become active in the arts in our City, there are many tasks and activities in which you can be involved. These include gallery sitter, guide, assisting in hanging exhibitions, newsletter mail-outs and reception duties. Bookings & Terms of Use

  1. Initial registration with an ID check is essential before new hirer bookings can be confirmed.
  2. Allow 24-48hrs for online bookings to be processed.
  3. One user per hotdesk only. Informal meetings and discussions can be conducted in the courtyard.
  4. The hirer must phone the Shoalhaven Regional Gallery 24 hours before their booking to confirm attendance otherwise their booking may be forfeited.
  5. Hirer/s are liable for all damage and losses incurred during their use of the venue subsequent to investigation.
  6. The user recognises that there is no onsite allocated parking. A ground level public carpark is located directly opposite the facility.
  7. After hours - The user agrees to maintain the security of the building by ensuring the front door and exit doors are never left ajar.
  8. Keys and swipe cards must be collected from the Shoalhaven Regional Gallery between Tuesday and Friday 10:00am - 4:00pm and returned in person or via the Key Return box after use.
  9. A $35 replacement fee will be issued for lost keys or keys not returned within 24hrs after the event
