Community safety and wellbeing is a whole community responsibility
Everyone has a role to play in creating safe communities.
Shoalhaven City Council is committed to working closely with residents, visitors, community, Police, industry, business and other interested parties to build strong and safe communities.
Below are some initiatives Council is working on to achieve this:
Safer Community Action Team
Safer Community Action Team (SCAT) is a partnership between the community, Police, Local Government, industry and business to increase community safety, reduce anti-social behaviour, crime and the fear of crime in the Shoalhaven.
This partnership has produced the Shoalhaven Crime Prevention Plan and the Nowra CBD CCTV project.
Meetings are held on a quarterly basis.
Shoalhaven Community Pride Committee
Community Pride Committees work towards developing local pride in communities of the Shoalhaven. There are active Community Pride Committees at Sanctuary Point and Bomaderry. Community Pride Committees bring together community members who are working together on building on the strengths and posiitve attributes of the local community.
