Current Works

Basin View

Reserve Road – Stormwater pipeline and kerb and gutter construction at cul-de-sac end. For more information, please contact the Basin District Engineer on 4406 2000.

Bellawongarah

Irvines Road – pipeline upgrade to address over topping of stormwater and erosion of embankment. For more information please call northern maintenance office 4429 3821

Berry

Albert Street - Rehabilitation between Alexandra St and Prince Alfred is currently underway. The works comprise the construction of new kerb and gutter where damaged, and the removal/replacement of existing pavement materials and minor changes to traffic conditions can be expected during the construction period. The rehabilitation is scheduled for completion early August. For more information, please contact the Roads Unit on 4406 2000.

Cambewarra
Cambewarra Lookout Road will be closed from the gate to the Lookout to allow the removal of the existing chain-mesh fence and the installation of w-beam guardrail, to improve road safety. The road to the Lookout Café will be closed from Monday 22 to Friday 26 July 2019. The road will be re-opened over the weekend on Saturday 27 & Sunday 28 July 2019, and closed again from Mon 29 to Tues 30 July 2019. We apologise for any inconvenience. For information, please contact Transport Engineering Officer Wayne Schnoor on (02) 4429 3142.

Culburra Beach

The Lake Circuit – Road rehabilitation between No 60 and No 122. The site works were started on the 29/07/2019 and will finish on 13/09/2019 subject to weather and unforeseen circumstances. The Lake Circuit will remain open to through traffic under traffic control with minor delays expected for the majority of the work. A short closure of The Lake Circuit of 4 hours is expected to be necessary. This website will be updated when the date of the closure is known, during which time a detour will be in place. Mollymook

Mitchell Parade / Donlan St - Work commencing Friday 21/06/2019. Expected completion Late July 2019. Residents should be aware that traffic diversions will be in place for various stages of the works. Residents should be aware that there will be 3 nights during construction that the intersection will be closed for construction of the new concrete islands, hot mix and line marking. Traffic control measures will be in place during day and night works. Access to residents properties within the work areas will be maintained at all times. 

SCC will include approximately 1000m3 of additional road rehabilitation works to the south of the round about site, including new road surfacing at the intersection of Clyde Street and Mitchell Parade. Road diversions and partial road closures will be required. There may be substantial delays to traffic both north and south bound along Mitchell Parade during these additional works. SCC advise drivers to avoid the are if possible.

SCC will undertake the additional road rehabilitation during roundabout works to minimise disruption to the public.

Bannister Head Road – Kerb and gutter renewal - 13 metres fronting #49. For further information please call 4429 8902.

Nowra

St Anns Street - Rehabilitation of the existing pavement between Wallace St and Salisbury Dr.  The works comprise the construction of a new asphaltic concrete roundabout and approaches to existing speed humps, and the removal/replacement of existing pavement materials. Council are currently gathering quotes and will revise timing for AC placement and are considering carrying the works out at night. During working hours minor detours and changes to traffic conditions can be expected during the construction period. For more information, please contact the Roads Unit on 4406 2000.

Orient Point

Orient Avenue, Otranto Avenue, Ormonde Crescent - Rehabilitation of the existing pavement between Ormonde Cres and Otway St is near completion with a bituminous wearing surface placed within the travel lanes 8 July. Council are currently addressing resident concerns in relation to drainage and property access. For more information, please contact the Roads Unit on 4406 2000.

Sanctuary Point

Waratah Crescent - Stormwater pipeline construction near The Park Drive intersection. For more information, please contact the Basin District Engineer on 4406 2000.

Sussex Inlet

Jacobs Drive - Streetscape works are completed, only minor rectification works remain. For further information please call 4429 3676.

Roads off Mokau Street (Verons Estate) - The construction of internal roads within the estate to include full reconstruction, culvert construction and bitumen sealing to complete around September 2019. Contact Project Manager 4429 3409.

Ulladulla

Deering Street – Shared User Pathway Stage 2, the construction of approximately 470m of concrete pathway 2.5m wide. Works will commence at the “Bommie” carpark and continue towards the Lighthouse. During construction Deering street will be subject to changed traffic conditions. Limited vehicular access to the “Bommie” car park will be available for cars only, no caravans or trailers will be permitted past Lighthouse Oval Car park. Road Closure from the “Bommie” car park to the Lighthouse. For further information please call 4429 8902.

Basin View

Berry

Edwards Street – Western Earthmoving Pty Ltd has been engaged to replace the existing timber bridge and pedestrian path with precast concrete culverts. Following the detailed design and the procurement of the culverts construction is due to commence in late August. Works are expected to take 2 months. For more information, please call 4429 3221.

Bomaderry

Bolong Road – New Concrete floor to box culvert near Manildra entrance. For more information, please contact the Basin District Engineer on 4406 2000.

Cambewarra

Far North Collector Road Network - The Far North Collector Road will link Illaroo Road (near the western end of West Cambewarra Road) to Moss Vale Road at Bells Lane in North Nowra. The project has now commenced with preliminary stages including initial land acquisitions, project planning and development, and survey and design. For more information on road condition access and information, please contact the Project Manager on 4429 3447. Tannery Road - Reconstruction of the failed road pavement in Tannery Rd. Work involves removing existing pavement material and in-situ lime stabilisation of sub-grade and base course pavements then bitumen resealing of the new road pavement. Construction time 3 weeks. Works are expected to commence on 15 June 2019. Contact Project Manager 4429 3409.

Crookhaven River Bridge Upgrade

Bridge renewal is subject to a detailed engineering design process.  Council has implemented heavy vehicle restrictions and strict speed limit restrictions on Culburra Road due to the reducing structural integrity of the bridge.

The project is under a Design and Construct tender which closed 22 January 2019. Council staff are currently reviewing tenders. This design process is expected to be complete and approved for construction towards the end of April 2019.

Construction will be scheduled for commencement in June 2019 pending the requirements of design approvals.

Council will aim to minimise the impact to the Community throughout the works. Construction will be staged such that Culburra Road will be open to traffic throughout the works.  For further information please call 4429 3409.

Nowra

Greenwell Point Road - Rehabilitation of the existing pavement between Mckay St and Westbrook Rd is scheduled to commence early August. The works comprise the construction of a new kerb and gutter, and the removal/replacement of existing pavement materials. Council are currently gathering quotes and will revise timing for AC placement and are considering carrying the works out at night. North Street Traffic Signals - Shoalhaven City Council will be constructing a set of Traffic Signals and associated works to improve safety at the intersection of North and Kinghorne Streets, Nowra.

Works are scheduled to commence in September 2019 and are expected to take approximately 3 months to complete. A contractor’s site compound will be established on land currently used for informal car parking east of the site for the duration of the works. Council is exploring options to minimise disruption to parking in the area during this time.

The works have been approved under the Federal Government Black Spot Program with funding provided by the Federal Government and Shoalhaven City Council. The work will include the installation of traffic signals at the intersection along with the associated drainage, footpath enhancements, road pavement works and connection of essential services.

Traffic control measures will be in place during construction with motorists advised to exercise caution and follow the traffic directions during this time. Shoalhaven City Council apologies for any inconvenience and appreciates your patience during this time.

Pyree

Greenwell Point Road – Road widening between Jindy Andy Lane and Pyree Lane is scheduled to commence August 2019. Changes to traffic conditions and minor delays will be expected. Please see roadside signage for program updates, or please contact the Roads Unit on 4406 2000.

Sanctuary Point

Ridgelands Avenue – Kerb and Gutter near Goshawke St (South side). For more information, please contact the Basin District Engineer on 4406 2000.

Sussex Inlet

River Road at Chris Creek - Programmed for the First Quarter of the 2019-2020 Financial Year is commencement to construct a shared user path bridge, and to re-align the existing footpath at, and either side of the Chris Creek Bridge near (south of) Harbord Street intersection with River Road. Some interference to the daytime traffic will result by Council’s Contractor using plant to install construction components. This project is scheduled for completion before the Christmas holiday period. For more information, call 4429 3447.

Berry

Tannery Road – Heavy Patching between Queen St and Agars Lane commenced 15 July with the locating of buried services. Council has engaged a contractor to carry out the stabilised heavy patching, advising heavy patch work will take around 4 days to complete with the bituminous wearing course placed within 2 weeks of completing the patching works. Tomerong

Pine Forest Road – Heavy Patching of the Hawken Rd intersection and adjoining 150m of Pine Forest Rd is scheduled for week commencing 22 July 2019. Council has engaged a contractor to carry out the stabilised heavy patching, advising heavy patch work will take around 2 days to complete with the bituminous wearing course placed within 2 weeks of completing the patching works.
