Three Natural Disaster Funding applications have been submitted for the following bridges: 

• Wheelbarrow Road over Lucy King Creek
• Brooman Road over Toombooomobah Creek
• Bugong Road over School Creek

The total amount of bridge reconstruction applications to date is $1,316,797 with $642,404 being already approved for Wheelbarrow Road and Toomboolomobah bridges.   The final application for Yerriyong Bridge will be submitted mid March. It should also be noted that Shoalhaven City Council were the first to submit Natural Disaster Funding applications for essential public asset restorations.

Berry

Edwards Street – Western Earthmoving Pty Ltd has been engaged to replace the existing timber bridge and pedestrian path with precast concrete culverts. Construction has commenced with work due to be completed in early January. For more information, please call 4429 3224.

Bawley Point

Bawley Point Road – Road widening and pavement rehabilitation between 2.1km to 3.75km from the Princes Highway has recommenced after the recent bushfires activity. Replacement of the stormwater drainage culverts is now complete. Additional works include widening, stabilising and overlaying the existing pavement prior to applying a bitumen wearing surface. Budgong

Bugong Road - School Creek bridge. The bridge has been destroyed by the recent fire. An alternative route between Mt Scanzi and Nowra is via Kangaroo Valley. Culburra Beach

The Lake Circuit – Road rehabilitation between No 60 and No 122. The site works were started on the 29/07/2019 Council has inspected the recent roadworks at The Lake Circuit, Culburra, and in the new year will be working with the contractor to address the poor finish. Fishermans Paradise

Cornfield Parade – Stormwater drainage upgrade works will be carried out at the intersection of Cornfield Parade & Fishermans Paradise Road. For further information please call 4429 8902.

Orient Point

Pyree

Greenwell Point Road – Preliminary road widening activities between Jindy Andy Lane and Pyree Lane have recommenced. This includes the installation of a new water main along the northern side of Greenwell Point Rd, extending and maintaining existing culverts, minor earthworks and widening of the existing road pavement, this will comprise of removal of shoulder materials and replacement with new pavement materials prior to applying a bitumen wearing surface. Currently the road construction is scheduled to commence late March 2020. Changes to traffic conditions and minor delays will be expected. Sassafras

Ulladulla

Deering Street – Shared User Pathway Stage 2, the construction of approximately 470m of concrete pathway 2.5m wide. Works will commence at the “Bommie” carpark and continue towards the Lighthouse. During construction Deering street will be subject to changed traffic conditions. Limited vehicular access to the “Bommie” car park will be available for cars only, no caravans or trailers will be permitted past Lighthouse Oval Car park. Wollumboola

Coonemia Road – Road widening between Culburra Rd and the water treatment plant (approx. 2km south of Culburra Rd intersection). Far North Collector Road Network - The Far North Collector Road will link Illaroo Road (near the western end of West Cambewarra Road) to Moss Vale Road at Bells Lane in North Nowra. Huskisson

Keppel Street - Road resurfacing works. The works involve the improvement of the existing wearing surface through the application of a heavy duty polymer modified bitumen spray seal. Numbaa

Comerong Island Road - Council confirms that repairs to the Comerong Island Ferry have now been completed and services for residents and their guests have resumed 18 February 2020. Roads off Mokau Street (Verons Estate) - The project involved the construction of internal roads within the estate to include full reconstruction, culvert construction and bitumen sealing.
