If you are a local student at school, TAFE or university and are seeking some valuable ‘hands on’ experience/exposure to a career or job of interest, then a work experience placement might be for you.
All of our Work Experience placements will be advertised under Current Vacancies and each placement will need to be applied for separately. Placements will be available in second term and fourth term of each year. School students need to discuss their work experience plans with their Careers Advisor. All students need to provide evidence they are covered by Indemnity Insurance.
If you see an advertised placement you wish to apply for, you will need to click the "apply" button on the job advertisement on Council's Internet. This will take you to a page where you need to register first. Once completed, you will be asked a series of questions to get information which supports your application. Each application must have a resume or supporting letter explaining what skills/interests you have.
At the end of the closing date, the applications are forwarded to the Department Manager for their consideration. During the assessment process, you may be contacted to clarify information you have provided. Once they have assessed your application, you will be notified of the outcome via email.
