Shoalhaven City Council has decided to extend free green waste tipping to residents for a further month.
Residents will now have until close of business Thursday, April 30th to dispose of green garden waste materials under 150mm in diameter for free.
Mayor Amanda Findley put forward the motion with Councillor Digiglio during the 10 March Strategy and Assets Committee meeting, and is pleased to see the extension come into effect.
“Council understands that with the recent bushfires and floods there is a lot of debris to be cleaned up and removed around the Shoalhaven.” Mayor Amanda Findley said.
“Recovery is a long process and we are only just scratching the surface, therefore, providing our residents with a longer period to dispose of unwanted green waste is important and necessary.
“Council will also make representations to the State Government in respect to continued financial support of green waste tipping from the bushfire crisis” Clr Findley said.
