Changed traffic Conditions Due to Nowra Bridge Upgrade Works

Shoalhaven City Council is reminding motorists that changed traffic conditions will be in place due to work commencing on the Nowra Bridge upgrade, on the Princes Highway and adjoining local roads.
Temporary lane closures, stop/slow traffic control and a reduced speed limit of 40km/hr are likely between 6pm and 6am Sunday to Friday for a four-week period, weather permitting.
Works started in Feburary, with the following activities starting to take place on site;
- Establishing site office compounds and storage areas
- Demolition of acquired houses and structures
- Installing temporary traffic control and safety barriers
- Installing boundary fencing and temporary fencings around work areas
- Removing minor vegetation within the bridge and road alignment
- Carrying out land and river survey and geotechnical work
- Investigating and relocating utility services
- Setting up water quality basins, dust measuring monitors and sediment control fencing
- Starting soft soil treatment at Bomaderry Creek bridge.
Major construction work will start in late 2020 with the project expected to be complete in 2024.
