Council is mobilising to Lake Tabourie to undertake preparatory works ahead of heavy rainfall forecasts in anticipation of manually opening the entrance once it reaches trigger levels.

From late this afternoon it is expected that the water level at Tabourie Lake will likely reach 1.3m AHD (the Planned Opening Level) overnight.

Works are subject to the safety of the machinery operators and the community is reminded to keep a safe distance from operations. Once opened, people are asked to stay away from the edges of the channel and eroding banks as these areas are very unstable and unsafe.

Works will be undertaken in accordance with the Tabourie Lake Entrance Management Policy.

Lake Conjola continues to be monitored, and excavators have been deployed to nearby locations to be on standby to manually open the entrance if it reaches the Planned Opening  Level of 1m AHD, as per the NSW Crown Lands Licence agreement.

As the lead agency in the response to floods and storms, the community is reminded to seek news and updates from the NSW State Emergency Service (SES) Home | NSW State Emergency Service
