On Sunday 28 November, Shoalhaven City Council is holding a free community cycling event, encouraging everyone to get outside and experience the fun of bike riding in beautiful Jervis Bay.
The Council-run event will also focus on safe cycling, safe cycling equipment and safe cycling behaviours.
The event will start at 9.00am from the White Sands Park at Huskisson where participants will ride together on an easy paced scenic return 12 kms coastal route from Huskisson to Plantation Point, Vincentia.
The ride will be guided and supervised by the Shoalhaven Bicycle Users Group (SBUG) who have qualified ride leaders.
Shoalhaven City Council Manager Technical Services Craig Exton is encouraging the community to take part in the event.
“Bring your bike and join us for a fun-filled ride around this beautiful part of the Shoalhaven. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn about bike safety while exploring the wonderful local scenery with your whole family”, Mr Exton said.
“You’ll enjoy the spectacular view of Jervis Bay and Point Perpendicular as you cycle along the shared pathways beside beautiful Jervis Bay”, Mr Exton stated.
All registered participants will receive a free bike safety sample bag.
COVID safe measures will be in place at the event. Participants are reminded to follow COVID safety procedures, for anyone aged 16 years and over they must check in using the Service NSW QR code and providing proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID unless they have a medical exemption.
Registration is essential as there are limited numbers of participant road safety bags. To register please call Shoalhaven City Council’s Road Safety Officer on 4429 3484.
