Shoalhaven City Council would like to remind the community that even though the COVID-19 curve is flattening, the NSW Public Health Act is still in place and essential travel restrictions still apply.

The safety of Council staff and the community is at the forefront of our minds therefore, we would like to remind the community that many items can be placed in their red bin, removing the need for a trip to the tip.

Garden waste and the disposal of old furniture and electronics is not seen as a health hazard, and Council would like to ask the community to hold onto these items until essential travel restrictions are lifted.

If you do need to make a visit to one of Council’s Waste Depots social distancing is required so please be patient as there may be long delays at the depot due to the limited number of vehicles permitted on site at any one time.

Some of Council staff have had to self-isolate and thus our operations have had to be prioritised to ensure we continue to provide this essential public health service. A number of transfer stations have been temporarily closed however our waste and recycling collection as well as our major centres at West Nowra, Huskisson and Ulladulla continue to operate as normal.

Customers are encouraged to visit Shoalhaven City Council’s Waste Services Availability by searching for waste services availability in councils search bar to find out more information or contact our Waste Information Line on 02 4429 3374, for the most up to date information on Waste Depot Operating hours.
