Little Libraries Bring Joy of Reading to Holiday Haven Parks
Published on 08 January 2021
Visitors to Holiday Haven Parks can enjoy easy access to books thanks to recently installed street libraries.
All 12 holiday parks are a part of the Holiday Haven Little Library project. A collaboration between Holiday Haven and Shoalhaven Libraries, the street libraries are stocked with pre-loved books in a range of genres suitable for children, teens and adults.
Library staff regularly check the little libraries and re-stock with replacement books when supplies dwindle.
Mayor Amanda Findley is excited about the Holiday Haven Little Library project.
“This is a fabulous initiative that shares the joy of reading. People can simply reach in and take what interests them; when they are done, they can return them to the Street Library network, or pass them on to friends,” she said.
“The street libraries are a welcome addition to our Holiday Haven parks, giving visitors and locals access to more reading material, with the added benefit of regular re-stocking by our wonderful library staff.
“There are so many benefits for us all to read for pleasure, both young and old. Curling up with a good book on holidays is one of my favourite ways to spend a holiday,” said Clr Findley.
