Nowra Bridge Project

The Australian and NSW Governments are funding a new four lane bridge over the Shoalhaven River, upgraded intersections and additional lanes on the Princes Highway.

Works started in Feburary, with the following activities starting to take place on site;

  • Establishing site office compounds and storage areas
  • Demolition of acquired houses and structures
  • Installing temporary traffic control and safety barriers 
  • Installing boundary fencing and temporary fencings around work areas
  • Removing minor vegetation within the bridge and road alignment
  • Carrying out land and river survey and geotechnical work
  • Investigating and relocating utility services
  • Setting up water quality basins, dust measuring monitors and sediment control fencing
  • Starting soft soil treatment at Bomaderry Creek bridge.

Major construction work will start in late 2020 with the project expected to be complete in 2024.
