Rangers disgusted over South Nowra dumping

Shoalhaven City Council Ranger’s located 10 cubic metres of household waste in Council owned bushland off Albatross Rd, South Nowra on Sunday 12 April.  

During a routine patrol Council Ranger’s located the substantial illegal dumping site containing multiple items of household waste. The site included;  Timber cupboards, metal cupboards, washing machine, reclining chairs, two mattress’, two microwaves, four tyres, two metal rims, three hard sheet metal items, foam, a metal ladder, carpet squares, paint tins, styrofoam, cardboard, plastic drop sheets, fabric, clothing, children’s toys, soiled nappies, a kitchen bench top, folding camper chair, car parts (two radiators), plastic packaging, glass jars, plastic bottles, garden pots and general timber. 

Investigations are continuing into the illegal dumping. Council would like to remind residents that those caught illegally dumping in the Shoalhaven face a $4 000 on the spot fine for individuals and $8 000 for corporations.  

Residents are also reminded that West Nowra, Huskisson and Ulladulla Recycling and Waste Depots are still in operation. However, Council asks residents to restrict their activities at this challenging time to protect the health of staff, themselves and the community.
