Relief for Renters of Council Properties

Shoalhaven City Council will provide six-months rent relief to some occupiers of Council owned or managed properties that have been financially impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The rental fee relief will apply from 1 April to 30 September 2020 in a move to help impacted businesses and community groups remain viable during this time of hardship. Those classified as impacted include premises that have been ordered to shut down or have had to adjust to strict trading and social distancing measures such as cafes and restaurants.
Other impacted organisations include but are not limited to, golf clubs, theatres, leisure centres and community groups run by elderly volunteers that are at high risk.
Tenancies not included in are excluded from Council's rent relief decision include premises that can remain open to provide essential services such as childcare and fresh food or groceries, telecommunication carriers, government departments, annual rents below $100 and agreements for parking, ramps, access, encroachments and the like.
