The Berry community are invited to provide their thoughts on a range of different design and planning elements that could be considered in a new Development Control Plan (DCP) for the area of Berry east of the Princes Highway (bypass).

A second survey has been designed to address the community feedback gathered during the two phases of community consultation held for the proposed Berry DCP so far, which includes 631 survey responses (December 2023-February 2024) and inputs from 130 people at drop-in sessions (March 2024).

Based on the community feedback, it's clear that there's a desire for future planning controls to:

  • Prioritise areas with significant heritage values
  • Adapt to various site and area-specific constraints and opportunities across Berry
  • Address infrastructure needs
  • Incorporate landscaping and vegetation considerations
  • Maintain the value of views and the rural landscape

The final survey is now open and asks people if they agree or disagree with statements about colours, materials and design of buildings, landscapes, footpaths and other infrastructure matters inside and outside existing/proposed Heritage Conservation Areas.

Feedback will contribute to the future planning controls for Berry.

The survey is open until 5pm Friday 7 June 2024.  To learn more and participate, visit the Council's Get Involved webpage or click here: Planning and Heritage Investigations for Berry | Get Involved Shoalhaven (nsw.gov.au)
