Spring into the school holidays
Published on 26 September 2024
The Spring school holidays are just around the corner and Council has plenty of activities on offer to keep children entertained and active during the break.
Kick off the holidays with a laugh at the Shoalhaven Entertainment Centre where The Wizard of Oz, Youth Edition and The Librarian will be showing. Direct from Canada and internationally acclaimed, The Librarian invites young audiences to discover the passion of reading and the power of the imagination using clowning, physical theatre and circus arts. The Wizard of Oz is a timeless classic that promises colourful costumes, amazing sets and theatre magic to capture the entire family.
The Shoalhaven Regional Gallery at Nowra will be hosting a series of creative workshops for children of all ages. Each program includes interactive art activities designed to engage children's imagination in both a learning and playful environment. Children can delve into the whacky world of Surrealist sculpture and image making or discover mask-making at the Gallery in October.
If your children have energy to burn, Shoalhaven Swim, Sport and Fitness has an array of physical activities on offer this spring. An inflatable playground will be set up throughout the holidays at the Sussex Inlet Aquatic Centre while the popular holiday program at theShoalhaven Indoor Sports Centre will feature an interactive multi-ball screen, where physical activity meets the excitement of video games. From battling space invaders to scoring the winning goal in a soccer shootout, the multi-ball screen offers endless fun and interactive games.
Shoalhaven Libraries will be offering a host of programs to keep children engaged and entertained. Creative children can learn to finger knit, explore hat decoration or build a diorama. The Australian Redcross will also be running workshops from the libraries that empower children to prepare for, cope with and respond to emergencies.
