Government Restrictions
- Public gatherings of over 500 people outdoors are now cancelled until further notice, effective as of 15 March 2020. Harsh fines apply to anyone in breach of this order.
- Non essential Public gatherings of over 100 people indoors are now cancelled until further notice and a 1 person per 4 square metre rule applies.
- Infection with COVID-19 is now notifiable under the NSW Public Health Act 2010.
- Travellers and Australian citizens arriving inbound to Australia will need to self-isolate for 14 days from arrival and report any symptoms of illness.
- All cruise ships which have sailed from a foreign port have been banned from entering Australian ports for 30 days.
The Australian Government has announced the following facilities will be restricted from opening from midday local time 23 March 2020:
- Pubs, registered and licenced clubs (excluding bottle shops attached to these venues), hotels (excluding accommodation)
- Gyms and indoor sporting venues
- Cinemas, entertainment venues, casinos, and night clubs
- Restaurants and cafes will be restricted to takeaway and/or home delivery
- Religious gatherings, places of worship or funerals (in enclosed spaces and other than very small groups and where the 1 person per 4 square metre rule applies).
