Apply for a filming permit

In the Shoalhaven, a permit is required for commercial filming and photography on land that is owned or managed by Council.

You do not need to notify Council of recreational filming (for example, filming as a hobby, wedding videography, and student videography).

Important information

  • if you are filming a Council-approved event you do not need to apply for a separate filming and photography permit as this will have already been assessed as part of your event application
  • fees for filming and photography will be charged based on the most up to date schedule of fees and charges
  • submitting an application does not guarantee the booking or location availability

Please note: Council can only permit filming and photography on land owned or managed by Council. To film on private land you will need to contact the property owner directly.
