Start a new bin collection service

Follow the steps below to request the start of a bin service for a new property or development.

Important information

  • making a change to a waste or recycling service will result in an increase or decrease to the yearly rate charges for the property - check bin sizes and costs here
  • Waste Services will not issue a bin to a property if an occupation certificate has not been issued

Please note: Changes to waste and recycling services may only be made by the owner, strata manager or managing agent of the property.

Steps to request

Before you start

Step 1.Check if you are eligible

You must be the property owner, strata manager or managing property agent in order to be eligible to complete this request.

If you are not eligible, you will need to request that the property owner, strata manager or managing property agent completes the request instead.

Step 2.Check your property type

You will need to know if your property is a single dwelling, dual occupancy, multi dwelling, agricultural/rural, or commercial property.

Step 3.Check if an occupation certificate has been issued

Before a waste service can be provided to the property, you will need to provide evidence that an occupation certificate has been issued.

Please note: Make sure you leave the 'Do you wish to be notified about this request?' box ticked, and select whether you prefer Email or SMS, so that we can contact you with important instructions about your bin request (e.g. pickup or delivery day).

What happens next

Step 1.You will receive a confirmation email about your submission

Make sure you check your spam folder if it doesn't appear in your inbox.

Step 2.We will action your request

Once a bin size is chosen, we will arrange for Veolia (Council's contractor) to deliver the bins within five (5) working days. We will contact you via your chosen contact method with important instructions about your bin request (e.g. pickup or delivery day).

Step 3.We will send you an an amended rates notice

After your service request has been completed, an amended rates notice will be sent to the property owner with the new rate instalments.
