Five Shoalhaven towns including Berry, Huskisson, Kangaroo Valley, Sussex Inlet, and Ulladulla have been shortlisted for the third annual NSW 2023 Top Tourism Town Awards.

Shoalhaven towns will be competing with a total of 32 remarkable towns across the state to claim the prestigious title of 'top tourism town' in three categories based on population size.

The NSW Top Town Awards, powered by Business NSW, aim to highlight the value of tourism and the visitor economy to towns across the state by showcasing the towns, people, attractions, and experiences that make NSW a 'must visit' destination.

With only one week to vote, which will make up 25 percent of the overall submission, locals and visitors alike are encouraged to jump online and have their say. Voting is restricted to one town per category here, with Huskisson and Kangaroo Valley in the under 1,500 category; Berry, Sussex Inlet in the population under 5,000 category; and Ulladulla in the population over 5,000.

Voting takes place on the Business NSW website.

Winners in each category will be announced in partnership with Local Government NSW at the LGNSW Destination & Visitor Economy Conference to be held on Tuesday 30 May 2023 in Manly.

Winners in each category will go on to represent NSW at Australia's Top Tourism Town Awards and compete with other states to be held later in the year.

Mayor Amanda Findley said "We are delighted to see five of Shoalhaven's remarkable towns and villages represented among the 32 finalists from across NSW. Being recognized as finalists demonstrates the passion our business operators have for visitors and is a significant achievement after overcoming the challenges faced by the industry. Show your support for the towns you love and let's bring the win home to Shoalhaven!"
